Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Join NBCU's growing software engineering and platform development team which builds the technical foundations for all aspects of NBCU's digital businesses. In this position, you will be responsible of leveraging technical expertise and contribute effectively to work on small to large-scale projects across NBCU’s Internet properties. You will develop & raise the overall quality of NBCU’s more than 60 Websites, Social Applications, gaming, on-air systems and video players across the practice and share insights and methods through recommendations to managers and related integration leads. With experience in design and development of websites, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Help us create the new consumption vehicles for our diverse properties.
- Work as lead developer along with internal/external development teams, to create software, application design, code, QA, implementation, deployment and documentation. Develop, define and maintain software development best practices and standards.
- Take technical ownership of development, enhancement and Integration projects, utilizing an interactive software development lifecycle.
- Work in a very well coordinated environment while keeping management informed, handle deadline pressures, and effectively escalate project issues
- Assisting the Teams in different development life cycles
- Manage workload of Project proactively by identifying and resolving issues that would present a risk to on-time implementation of the
- Should be ready to take up challenge to work under pressure and coordinate the engagements in global environment.
Desired Candidate Profile :
- Qualification:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics
- Technical skills:
- Minimum 6 years software development experience.
- Minimum 6 years experience programming in C++ and/or Modern Java technologies
- Minimum 6 years experience with UML and Agile development
- Minimum 6 years experience with Unix/Linux or Windows environments, Java or C++ development, distributed systems, machine learning, information retrieval, network programming and/or developing large software systems
- Overall IT experience (in yrs): 6-8 years
- Relevant experience (in present skill): 6+ yrs
- Other Requirements (Project mgmt, certifications, soft skills etc, team mgt resp: global exp: Enthusiasm for solving problems)
