SUMMARY :
Responsible for gathering business requirements and conceptualize logical/physical databases. Perform database development and administration tasks in development, QA and production database environments. Manage and support current and future database development and methodologies. Proactively evaluate physical and logical design of databases to keep up with the dynamic and growing business needs. Be a contributing team architect in the development and design of data warehouse and business intelligence solutions. Maintain and develop ETLs to move data across various platforms. Provide production support. Lead a team of highly talented DBAs. Deliver results consistently that meets business objectives. Work harmoniously with other teams in the company.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead & mentor a team of highly talented DBAs.
- Design logical and physical databases.
- Maintain and upgrade ETL, data movement related processes.
- Manage existing data models and create models for new databases; Generate and maintain data dictionaries.
- Work with business analysts and various groups to collect requirements and translate those into logical database models.
- Extensive database programming using T-SQL and other SQL server utilities.
- Troubleshoot problems reported by clients in the data warehouse systems.
- Develop procedures to DTS data from multi-sources.
- Identify potential performance and process improvements.
- Conduct data analysis, design and execution architecture training, as required.
- Develop new and manage existing ETLs for the warehouse databases.
- Provide SQL / database support to the application developers.
- Manage the databases in development and QA environments.
- Monitor and manage the production data warehousing processes.
Desired Candidate Profile :
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Education: B.Tech, B.E, MCA, M.Sc (Computers)
- 5-8 years of experience in database development / administration (minimum of 4 with Sybase or Microsoft SQL Server).
- Hands on experience with ETL technologies. Experience in data warehousing projects is plus.
- Expertise in data modeling tools is a must.
- Application programming and experience in .NET platform is a plus.
- At least 2 years data modeling and 4 years SQL programming experience.
- Work effectively in team environment.
- Should be a process oriented person.
- Exposure to Business intelligence solutions is a plus.
